Description

Instructor Led. This comprehensive program empowers civil designers to create, edit, and publish pipe networks using Autodesk Civil 3D, a leading software solution in civil engineering design and documentation.

Throughout the course, participants will engage in practical exercises and real-world examples, fostering a hands-on learning environment. Our experienced instructors will guide you through each module, providing valuable insights and tips to empower you to competently manage parts lists, create and edit structures and pipes, and produce reports, profile views and section views.

Note that this course does not include stormwater hydrology or hydraulics.

Pre Requisites

1 year hands-on experience with the software or have completed the Civil 3D fundamentals course

Course Outline

Civil 3D Parts. Underpinning Civil 3D pipe networks are the structure and pipe parts that you can apply.  Learn how to build your own parts lists using the supplied catalogs and how to add part sizes.

Civil 3D Pipe Networks. Expanding on the Civil 3D Fundamentals course, we’ll explore how to layout your pipe network using selected structure and pipe parts including editing structure positions, applying curved pipes, swapping parts, connecting new branches and editing connections.  See how to manage the elevations of your pipe network and check structure drops.  Add plan labels and generate pipe and structure tables, for design review and plan production.

Civil 3D Profiles and Profile Views. Dive into profiles and profile views to support presentation and vertical design of your pipe network.  Learn how you can manage the display of crossing pipes and make direct edits to the vertical design of your pipe network, as well as labelling of the networks.

Civil 3D Section Views. Navigate the process of section view creation including the creation of sample lines.  This will be an introduction to section view display and how to include pipes in the outputs.

Civil 3D Analysis. We will introduce you to interference checking and demonstrate some of the analysis tools inside Civil 3D.
