Stringer Topo | For CAD Platforms (Online)
Instructor Led. This course introduces surveyors to the functionality in Stringer Topo to work with COGO Points, manage point groups, create survey linework and build survey surfaces, complete with output of labels and tables, as well as touching on the cadastral toolset in Stringer Topo. Acquire essential skills for leveraging Stringer Topo for your various survey projects.
Description
Instructor Led. This comprehensive program empowers surveyors to use their surveyed point data to create, edit, and publish topographical surveys using Stringer Topo. Work with COGO Points, create survey linework and automate the addition of surface breaklines to create complete survey surfaces including labelling and legend table.
Throughout the course, participants will engage in practical exercises and real-world examples, fostering a hands-on learning environment. Our experienced instructors will guide you through the survey reduction process, editing of survey data to manage survey linework and surface breakline creation, and publishing of outputs.
Course Outline
Introduction to Stringer Topo. Start your exploration with an introduction to Stringer Topo, gaining an understanding of the command interface and Stringer Toolspace. Understand how Stringer Topo connects point data to create survey linework and add surface breaklines.
Stringer Settings. Dive into the settings in Stringer Topo to control how COGO points are displayed, and survey linework is created and managed, based on point descriptions. Harness the power of dynamic blocks and attributed text to fully customise the display of your COGO points, automatically displayed how you like based on your point descriptions. Understand the settings for point formats, adding point properties, multi scaled symbols and table outputs. Control whether you have 2D polylines, 3D polylines and/or breaklines created based on point codes.
Survey Data Import. Explore the process for importing coordinated point data and raw survey observation files. Leverage the Stringer Connect interface to manage raw survey data, edit control points, view radiations, review the survey pickup and generate coordinated points in the drawing linked to the survey data.
Points and Point Groups. Learn how you can manage points in the drawing as well as point display. Use point groups to manage how points are grouped and categorised, establish the points used for creating a surveyed surface, adjust point datum elevations, increment point numbers, edit display styles, export to file and more.
Survey Linework and Breaklines. Control survey linework based on point codes and explore the various point editing tools to correct survey pickup errors and enhance survey linework creation. Leverage the Survey String Manager to rapidly navigate the survey point and string data, highlight self intersecting strings, generate crossing breakline reports, change connection point order, reorder out-of-sequence point pickupts and edit point codes to create arcs between points.
3D Model Viewing. Master the Model Viewer interface to quickly identify survey errors in 3D, updating as you edit the survey and breaklines. The Model Viewer is a separate window showing you a data accurate, fully rendered model of your surveyed surface/s, survey strings and points.
Survey Tools and Legend Tables. Create your own customised legend tables and add multi scaled symbols for points (for trees). Explore conformance reports to compare points to surfaces, alignments and lines. Review the various cadastral tools to create traverses and radiations, label linework, offset hatching and label areas.
Long Sections and Cross Sections. Be empowered to create long and cross sections of your surveyed surfaces as part of your documentation process.
Pre Requisites
This course is specifically tailored to AutoCAD/BricsCAD platform users and is not suited to Civil 3D users. Civil 3D users are encouraged to attend the Stringer Topo for Civil 3D course instead of this one.
