Civil 3D | Styles and Settings (Online)

Instructor Led. Built for all CAD managers and staff involved in the standardisation of presentation outputs, this course deep dives into the styles and settings in Civil 3D that drive the command behaviours and control the presentation of outputs. This course empowers users to customise Civil 3D outputs and fully understand the nuances of creating and managing object, label and table styles. This course assumes you have a working knowledge of the different object types in Civil 3D.

Description

Instructor Led. This comprehensive exploration of styles and settings in Civil 3D empowers CAD managers and staff involved in the standardisation of presentation outputs to create customised Civil 3D outputs for their organisation.

Delivered by professionals who have created Civil 3D drawing templates for organisations, you will build up your knowledge of the infrastructure in Civil 3D that underpins both the behaviour of objects and outputs.

In this course we will take customers into the settings hierarchy, starting and the drawing level and working down through the object level controls. We will review command settings to show attendees how to manage inputs when commands are executed in Civil 3D.

We will drill down into styles to show users how to manage styles across the drawing and to work with the styles hierarchy to reduce rework of styles.  We will cover how to create and manage object styles, label styles and table styles.  For label styles, we will explore how expressions can be used and also discuss how to work with child styles.  We will also cover the options for sharing styles between drawings.

Course Outline

Civil 3D Drawing Settings and Defaults. Starting from the top, you will be empowered to make changes that apply across the entire drawing, including establishing object layers and setting label defaults, such as the preferred text style.

Civil 3D Feature Settings. Dive into the feature settings that control each object in Civil 3D.  This enables management of different objects for styles and settings.

Civil 3D Styles. Immerse yourself in the creation and editing of styles.  Empower yourself to create and manage object styles, label styles and table styles.  Navigate the process of creating labels using components, and harness the power of child labels to reduce your workload.
